PUNDERSON, David & Sarah (Alling)

David Punderson was the son of John and Damaris (Atwater) Punderson, and the grandson of John Punderson, the immigrant, who was one of the “Seven Pillars” of the New Haven church in 1639. He married Sarah Alling in 1716. He died at age 45 in 1731 and was buried at New Haven. His gravestone reads:

“Here lies the Body of Mr. David Punderson who died Sept. ye 18, A.D. 1731. Aged 45 Years”

Sarah Alling was the daughter of Samuel and Sarah (Chidsey) Alling. She died on 27 November 1761 and her gravestone reads:

In Memory of
Mrs. SARAH Relict
of Mr. DAVID
PUNDERSON who
died Nov. 27th A.D.
Aged 75 Years
1761, who was Ex-
emplary in her Life..
peaceful & Sudd…

DAVID PUNDERSON was born 3 November 1686 in New Haven, CT, and died 18 September 1731 in New Haven, New Haven Co., CT.  He married SARAH ALLING 27 December 1716 in New Haven, CT, daughter of SAMUEL ALLING and SARAH CHIDSEY.  She was born 17 January 1685/86 in New Haven, CT, and died 27 November 1761 in New Haven, New Haven Co., CT. The Children of DAVID PUNDERSON and SARAH ALLING are:

i.    DAVID PUNDERSON, b. 29 June 1718, New Haven, CT; d. 5 May 1777, New Haven, New Haven Co., CT; m. THANKFUL TODD, 20 December 1739, New Haven, CT; b. 18 July 1717, New Haven, CT; d. 7 March 1798.
ii.    DANIEL PUNDERSON, b. 28 September 1722, New Haven, New Haven Co., CT; d. 1758, Crum Elbow, Dutchess Co., NY; m. SARAH.
iii.    SARAH PUNDERSON, b. 3 October 1725, New Haven, New Haven Co., CT; m. JAMES THOMPSON, 6 February 1744/45, New Haven, CT.
iv.    ELIZABETH PUNDERSON, d. Aft. 1757.
