GILBERT, Samuel & Hannah (Dorman)

Samuel Gilbert, born 18 November 1697 at New Haven, was the oldest son of Samuel and Hannah (Little) Gilbert. He married Hannah Dorman in 1722 at New Haven. Hannah was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Wilmot) Dorman.

Samuel Gilbert died 25 October 1724 at age 27. The cause of his early death has not been ascertained. Six years after Samuel Gilbert’s death, Hannah married Israel Smith and they had no children together.

SAMUEL GILBERT, son of SAMUEL GILBERT and HANNAH LITTLE, was born 18 November 1697 in New Haven, CT, and died 25 October 1724 in New Haven, CT.  He married HANNAH DORMAN 24 September 1722 in New Haven, CT, daughter of JOSEPH DORMAN and MARY WILMOT.  She was born 9 September 1701 in New Haven, CT, and died 1768.  She married (2) ISRAEL SMITH 12 November 1730 in New Haven, CT.

Children of SAMUEL GILBERT and HANNAH DORMAN are:

i.    SYBIL GILBERT, b. 12 July 1723, New Haven, New Haven Co., CT; d. 21 March 1755; m. YALE BISHOP, 31 May 1744.
ii.    SAMUEL GILBERT, b. 27 November 1724, New Haven, New Haven Co., CT; d. 27 November 1797; m. SARAH SACKETT, 2 July 1750, New Haven, CT; b. Abt. 1732; d. 22 February 1818.
